How do I stop the Desktop Toolbar from appearing on boot in Win XP?

It suddenly decides it wants to appear each time I boot.

Its the Desktop toolbar not the Quicklaunch. Don't have any viruses.

Do you mean like the quick launch bar? Right click anywhere on your taskbar, go to toolbars, make sure nothing is checked there. If nothing is checked then you shouldn't get additional toolbars on the desktop. If bars are still showing up, might try doing a virus and spyware scans, they can make funky things happen.
