Wait, you have a vacation during your friend's wedding??

The logical thing to do is cancel the wedding if you think your friend is more important. If not, just go and enjoy yourself somewhere else while your best friend spends the best day of her life.

It depends on a few things. 1. how understanding this friend is, 2. did you know about the wedding prior to the vacation planning, it doesn't sound as if you did, 3. what would be your role in the wedding, would you be in the wedding party or just a guest.

I personally wouldn't miss my best friend's wedding, but if the vacation is already paid for and you'll lose a lot of money and it was planned prior to the wedding annoucment, then the friend should understand that there isn't any way you can get out of it. However if you can reschedule the vacation without much hardship, then you should do it. Wouldn't you want your best friend standing up with you on your wedding day? I would.

Good luck.

Evaluate the situation carefully.

1 - If she is your BEST friend, do you really want to miss this important of a day in her life?
2 - How would you feel if she missed your wedding in exchange for a vacation?
3 - Is this vacation really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? Or can it be rescheduled?
4 - Is there any chance this wedding would be a destination wedding, and you could consider it a vacation as well?

Finally... and most importantly...

5 - What does your heart tell you to do?

If this is the first wedding and you have been asked to be in the wedding party, cancel the vacation. If you are just a guest and is wedding #2 or #3, have fun on your vacation. Send the happy couple a postcard!

you should do the wedding and not bother to go on vacation because you can always go on vacation but your friends wedding will only be one day and im sure she wants to share that day with you. If you got married wouldnt you want her to be there and cancel her vaction. vacations come and go but friends are special!

Both. This is a one time thing. Your friend NEEDS you to be there. Make your vacation go a day later. Your friend honestly needs you there, because I can guarantee she's going to get pre-wedding jitters and she'll need you there to calm her down. I know it sucks, but your friend will be thankful. She'll probably understand if you don't go, but she'll most likely always remember you didn't make it. Just make your vacation a little later, go to the wedding, don't whine about how you didn't get to go on vacation, talk to her when she needs it and have an AWESOME time. Then take your vacation.

Depends on the type of vacation. If you have a flight booked and a hotel and everything with a travel agent then go on your vacation because you wont get that money back because of a wedding. If its just a small getaway then I would postpone it and got to your friends wedding.

o that's a tough one...i guess it all depends on how a good a friend is she....would she miss ur wedding or did she? it also depends on what your vacation is, where your are going, who you are going with, and if you can cancel it. if you can't and your friend can't change her wedding date, then either go to the wedding or tell your friend that you are soooooooooooooooo sorry and that if you would have known about her wedding date before you planned your vacation then you would have changed the date of your vacation. if you knew about the wedding date before you planned the vacation then that is just plain MEAN!

Still take the time off work and instead of doing a week away somewhere, do a shorter getaway and then party hearty for the wedding weekend.

go to your bestfriends wedding. you can reschedule your vacation anytime. but can you see your bestfriend be happy on his/her wedding day anytime? nope you cant. its really easy to switch tickets and hotel reservations as well as just talk to your boss for the time off switch. he/she will understand its your friends wedding and think highly of you that you have a greater commitment to people close to you then to your own personal gain.

damn i give good advice.
