Hi ..No special diet has been proven effective for preventing or treating this disease... Some people find their symptoms are made worse by milk, alcohol, hot spices, or fiber... People are encouraged to follow a nutritious diet and avoid any foods that seem to worsen symptoms... But there are no consistent rules...

People should take vitamin supplements only on their doctor's advice..

I put a link, below..with information..about the foundation! ...
i wish you, all the best , and the courage, you need!!...

Kind, regards!:)

The African diet is high in fiber and produces large size stool every day. There is no colon cancer or other problems because of the fast transit time from mouth to the rear end. Your nearby health food store has something in the refrigerated part called unprocessed wheat bran. A bag is under a dollar. It comes in coarse or fine grain. Just sprinkle some in your juice, your coffee or water. Sprinkle over all your plate of food. You want to absorb enough fiber until you too are producing large healthy stool every day. See how fast good health returns to your body.

Both are very serious disease's.....and you should only follow a diet prescribed only for you by a knowledgeable Medical Docter.I would never take any other advice.

It all depends on the severity of the disease and what symptoms you have .One of the most important things to do is stay away from things that you don't digest easily, such as red meat, corn, popcorn, raw veggies, and most fresh fruits(cooked are fine).Smoking can trigger symptoms as well as milk products too.You really need to talk to your health care provider as he/she knows your case history. You could also consult a dietary specialist.Good luck and hang in there!

Diet has not been as big a problem as getting the right supplements, a good multivitamin, a pre/probiotic combo and plenty of the right type of fiber.

From my personal experience this is what I avoid:

--High carb foods (like pastas and white bread).
--Onions
--Acids (like OJ and tomato juice)
--Caffiene
--Hot, spicy food
--Iceberg lettuce
--Milk products (I limit these)

What I eat that seems to make me feel better:
--Eggs
--Lean cuts of meat
--Handful of nuts (for the fiber)

This is just a list of extreme do's and don'ts for me. Hope it helps you!
