A child can't logically decide that they want to be a surgeon when they grow up. And if it is your dream FOR the child, then that's even worse. The best surgeons in the world didn't 'prepare' as children. Let the child be a kid and have fun before life gets too complicated. If the child has a genuine interest in surgery, they will explore it on their own (role playing, books, etc.)

I'm not a surgeon but have done a lot of surgery on lab animals, rats, mice, rabbits etc. I always thought that playing the piano for all those years helped my coordination. I found that I could do almost everything equally well with my left hand as with my right and that really comes in handy when you work with your hands.

At this point in her life, the only thing she can really do is become more observant (even the tiniest, most insignificant thing during surgery could mean a failed surgery) practice being objective when her emotions threaten to overwhelm her reasoning and skim a few of the less complex medical texts for younger audiences

Seriously..........Steer her away from timidity when she encounters someone's boo-boos or even her own cuts and scrapes. Make sure your household is equipped with most medicinal supplies required to mend any and all of the above. School her in the knowledgeable use of those supplies. Encourage her as an individual to be caring, loving and giving.

Don't do drugs. Take your school grades seriously. Keep good friends. Take care of your own health. Don't drink alchohol or smoke cigarettes. Learn good study habits for college. Take up a hobby that will encourage good hand eye coordination.[typing, computer games, etc....] Good luck:)

Play the Operation game. It will help her hone her hand to eye skill and keep her head fixated on the idea.
