Thinking of renting a limo/driver for a few hours. Destination is soi 33. Would this be worth it? About how much should it cost? I have expense account money to use or lose before the end of the month. Any other ideas on how to get the most of it?

Hi There,

does not make sense. You will loose to get the atmosphere of the city. take a Tuk-Tuk instead. It is really very funny. It cost 50-100 BAT (1-2 US) for half a day.

From Don Muang to soi 33 is probably abt a 30-40 minute trip and about 250-300 baht by taxi - not sure of limo pricing - - for my liking, not worth it.. go out and have a blast on the money.. If you have never been in Bkk you can have more fun than you have ever had in your life, but soi 33 is one of the more expensive places to have fun.. plenty of other places within a five minute walk will give you more than your moneys worth... need a thai speaking guide?

there are taxis all over Bangkok and most know where sukomvit soi 33 is. Tourist area for sure. Lots of working girls as well. As for cost I have no idea where you are starting from. A couple of hundred Baht can get you most any place in Bangkok. If from the airport then about two hundred Baht will do it by taxi. If you just plain want to show off then rent the lemo.

It'll take a while to get where you're going but it's well worth the comfort level, AC, out of the rain, drinks and snacks etc.

Since you have expense account to use, might as well splurge on this mode of travel. Traffic on Sukhumvit is heavy, so comfort will be a great idea. I will say go for it.
