In Korea, silk worm larvae are a children's snack. No big deal. Insects are eaten all over the world.
Now here's a true story: I went out for breakfast with a Korean friend of mine (in Korea) and his father. As is Korean custom, his father ordered the meal. What came was a very hot spicy soup with a big chunk of congealed blood in the middle surrounded by pieces of sliced intestine. It wasn't so bad once you got over the texture...

Fried rattlesnake, and NO IT DOESN'T taste like chicken. I also was the one cooking it, and it was disgusting the way it moved around in the pan during frying.
Mountain oysters-yuk, i hated the consistency
Chittlin's -ewwwwwwwww, first off, it was New Year's Day & had a hangover (back in the day when I drank), and my sister in laws home smelled like a public s***house. As I tried to swallow it, the damn thing grew in my mouth, I finally got it down, but it didn't stay there!

lttle black and brown beetles doing the backstroke in my milk. I thought they were bits of nuts in my muesli. I even picked a few up and nibbled them between my teeth, abit crunchy and stale I thought and carried on till I took a closer look and saw the survivors little legs skating on the surface. I never ate muesli again or 'raw' breakfast cereal, and went straight to specsavers.

Cat food, I was making a cup of hot chocolate in the dark and grabbed the nearest spoon to the kettle, I felt these lumps in my mouth and thought the powder hadn't dissolved, I switched the light on and there were all these lumps of meat floating in the cup.

From a French roadside BBQ stall, odd tasting hot dogs...When questioned, the vendor said it was HORSE! Which I found really sad, but I had to tell my Australian friends it was pork, seasoned with Grandma's secret herbs.

One time there was an old lady who swallowed a fly, then a spider, then a bird, then a cat, then she died.
I ate some bleu cheese dressing on a hot wing once though.

Depends what you mean by weird. I often have strange sandwich combos like banana/ham and beetroot/mint sauce. I have also eaten octopus which was quite nice.
