Never use a strap without strap locks!!! EVER! Why? Bang! The guitar falls off the strap, hits the floor , and you have a big repair bill. Yes this happened to me! And with a 67 SG! Yes THAT one - the Angus Young Reissue one, but the real thing.
Schaller are fine for $25.00- easy to put on.

Strap locks can be noisy so if you do use a strap lock system it's a good idea to lubricate the moving parts with some machine oil. They are great of you move around a lot when you play.

Unfortunately you need strap locks. Favorite guitar is and probably always will be my first, a 1965 Gibson Les Paul (pearl white)
