Cutting is primarily associated with Borderline Personality Disorder. Perhaps you could look it up for further information.

Shaving, peeling potatos, etc.
I never cut myself to let the pain out, or for fun. I am far too much of a wimp to do so, even when I was really depressed. Besides, that's a little EMO.
My sister used to do this often. It is actually highly terrible when people do this. Very sad.

yes. I'm a cutter. I've got two young daughters, and I know I have to stop before they get old enough to notice, but it's so hard to. I get so upset, and it's the only way to get the bad out, you know? I did it since I was little, like 9 years old. I didn't know anyone else did that. I thought I was the only one. when I was about 16 I started seeing movies about that sort of thing, and my mom caught me looking at my scars, sent me to the nut house. years of therapy and medication and bloodwork and cat scans and psychological evaluations and diagnostic evals and I still do it when things get too hard to handle.

Annabel cutting your body is not normal. But, many young people do. It is a disease and you should talk to an adult that you trust about it. Your parents are the first you should talk to. You can also talk to your school nurse, or counselor.

Most importantly is do not suffer this alone. Please seek help. And do not feel that you will be laughed at or ridiculed. You will not. Please get help and you will learn to love and care for your body.

Yeah, I did. For lots of people it's an urge that might seem like the only way they can avoid killing themselves Other people only try to copy what they have seen, It is much easier for the second kind to quit. It is NOT a suicide attempt.
