What types of Surface to Air missiles does and doesn't the U.S. have and why don't they have them?

The Patriot Missile is a surface to air missile. It is made for the US army. It is carried on a tractor trailer type rig and has 4 missiles to the trailer. It was made to shoot down fighter planes on up to ballistic missiles (SCUD-killers)

The Standard Missile is a ship-borne missile found on US Navy ships. The Aegis cruiser is a surface-to-air missile cruiser. It can fire something like 150 guided missiles in 5 minutes. Made to similar perfomance specs as the Patriot.

These are among the largest SAM missiles in existience.

There is also the man-portable systems such as the Stinger. This is a short range infrared missile.

There are some mid-range systems though I don't know what they are called (I want to say one is called the Cheyenne). These are usually tank-mounted systems and are capable of shooting down fighter planes/bombers
