If I were the President of the United States of America, I would seek to end Abortion, and push to change the judges elected to office. I would push to see alternative energy options are brought to the market. I would put the country back on the Gold standard and revoke the charter for the Federal Reserve. I would work to help small third world countries get a step up on their economies by partnering with them to help them stablize and grow industry.
I would eliminate the WTF and get the work force back to work in this country making industry a priority for our countries well being and competitive future. I would also, stop all this domestic spying on citizens crap.

I would enforce the 'eye for an eye' law in regards to those who do physical harm to others. Maybe this would deter all those murderers, rapists, pedophiles, etc...

Make sure people can afford health care without it being socialist form.

Make the welfare recipients pay for their benefit and stop the generational entitlement mindset. Those who are handicapped will be given special considerations. But, I would make sure they do some kind of job that suits their capabilities.

I would keep America out of the U.N. Let America protect it's own borders on it's own soil.

I would encourage free enterprise and self-employment. Have people pay taxes according to their earning powers.

I would make sure the schools taugth basic academia. Keeping out the specia social indoctrination agendas of some groups. Meaning, disband the NEA. Tough screening for all those people wanting to work with children. Making it a safe and comfortable place for children to learn what they need to get gainful employment not some social activist.

These are just a few.

Where are you from? What would you do make sure your Country is a better place?

For one thing to help the middle class and working poor I'd change the tiering system for taxes making it about 5 tiers instead of several hundred so that if you get a 50 cent raise you wouldn't end up with less money, also for the same reasons the "and a half" portion of overtime should also be tax free.
I'd demand publicly that the IRS increase it's efficiency, since they are 50% efficient they are taking 50% of all the money paid to them to collect the taxes. If they were only 75% efficient then with the same taxation the government would receive billions more in funding .
I would take the budgets of NPR, NEH and NEA and block grant them to the poorest school districts in the country with no strings attached.
I would offer to take a 15% pay cut if congress would do the same.
I would step up interdiction of drugs coming into this country and would set up a program to fund rehab for junkies who would then pay it back by giving up 50% of their tax returns until it was paid back.
I'd seek to make drug possession a ticket-able offense (like speeding the area and amount would determine whether you got jail or a ticket ) with a steadily increasing fine 50 for the 1st 100 for the 2nd... So instead of filling up prisons with non-violent offenders we would instead eliminate the economic incentives to drug dealing, as dealers would lose the drugs and have a fine to pay.
I'd put troops along the borders and make them secure, to keep out drug smugglers and terrorists.
I'd make the White House a museum and relocate the executive branch of the gov to a geologically stable area away from the coasts.
I'd propose using everything we know to get electricity from reusable or natural sources, like water wheels in rivers, wave and tide powered generators.
I'd send the heads of all corporate gas station and oil distribution calenders so they wouldn't be taken by surprise by major holidays and "have" to raise their prices.
I'd point out in a address that there have been major finds of oil through out the US and in the Gulf of Mexico and that the price of oil is vastly over valued.
I'd thank the Federal Reserve Board for their years of harming the economy and destroying the lives of poor people to benefit themselves and then tell them they're fired and go back to the gold system.
And several other things but now my hands are cramping.

I would try to influence law makers to do away with lobbies and to begin strong campaign reform ....I would try to influence the strengthening of the constitution giving power back to the people where it belongs...I would put limitations on corporate welfare and would spend more money on improving our sources of energy....as far as the middle east I think it of extreme importance to finish the job there and return the troops home I would give the new government of Iraq a deadline to be prepared to take over governing its own people and at the end of said deadline the troops would come home....I think it would be of utmost importance for America to shed the bad image it has around the world and should allow the UN or Red Cross to inspect and make sure that all prisoners of the US around the world are treated in accordance with the Geneva Convention and as soon as possible at the end of the war with Iraq all prisoner would receive due process or released and all prisons that we control around the world are shut down.... we need to strengthen our diplomatic ties with all people around the world we need to show them that America once again believes in human rights and civil liberates for all man kind and that diplomacy is better than war.

I would repeal the federal income tax and institute a federal sales tax. That way, all consumers become tax payers. Welfare recipients, illegals, people that work for cash, and the homeless would all be paying their fair share as well.
