mp3 already is a compression technique. The only way is to pick a lower resolution that would compromise the quality of video.

It's not really possible to further compress an MP3 or video file without losing quality. If you need to email it or save it, you can use WinZip to temporarily compress it, send it and then uncompress it . .but you can't do anything with the compressed Winzip file. It has to be uncompressed first.

There are different packages that offer better or worse compression. DivX works pretty well on the video front, but it can be a bit of a pain in the butt to work with and if you send the file to someone else, they need the correct DivX "CODEC" to view your file. If it's for your personal use, give it a shot. If you have to send it to others, I don't think I recommend.

Any time a video or mp3 file is compressed the quality will be affected!

Prolly not, or at least not much. Video files in common file formats and mp3 files already are compressed.
