First, get your pet(s) to the vet to de-flea them. I'm not sure what happens with dogs, but with cats, when the cats bite themselves to stop the itching, they swallow the fleas and get tapeworms. Almost too gross to even consider, but true nonetheless. While your animal is at the vet's, have a flea control company come in and spray your living area. (You and the animals usually need to be out of the house for several hours after this is done.) Buy those little tubes of liquid you squirt onto the back of the animal's neck (Advantage, Frontline, whatever) and that will stop the fleas from coming back. You can buy that stuff on the internet for like 50% of what it costs at the vet's. Depending on where you live, you may need to use those tubes every month of the year. But it will stop the fleas.

Get some Frontline from your Vet. It poisons any fleas that have been on your pet and the fleas in turn poison other fleas until you're flea free. I've tried things from dept. stores and no matter how similar they seem, they never work like Frontline. You just have to put it between the dogs shoulder blades once a month. It is worth every penny.

if you don't like the smell of bombs and don't want to hire an exterminator.here's an old trick i used years ago and it dose work.take a plate or cookie sheet(something low to the floor)fill with water and squirt some dishsoap in it.use it at night with a small light beside it,preferably a black light.if not something that isn't real bright.the light will attract the fleas and of course when they jump into the soapy water it will kill them.if you have many fleas in your house you will find the water full of fleas the next morning.give it a try ..good luck

Your going to have to get some flea spray & bombs. I used to work at a pet store, this is a common problem just follow the directions, and make sure you treat your animals also then once under control get some once a month medicene for your pet.

Call the exterminators in. Fleas have a tendancy to hide very well so only a good fumigation will rid them.

Don't leave pet foods out. The fleas hide in it.
Then clean up the pets and the house.

I just use those House Sprays. We call them "Bug Bombs". It the ones you turn off Pilot Lights (Gas), cover Aquariums and turn off the Air Pump, and remove anything you not want to kill. In about 3-5 days you may want to do it again, in case some eggs hatch.
