I only have to wander into any catholic church to look at all the gold chattels everywhere! And when I leave the church and walk for miles, I'm still on church owned property...makes one think.
As for 'god understands why some need to break a 'commandment', well how convenient is that!? I could say I have a chemical imbalance in my brain that causes me to covet other people's wives, but hey, god understands....LMAO!

The degree of one's compliance with religious "rules" varies among peoples of all faiths.
"Most" people do not "have to" work on the "sabbath". They choose to be adherents of a particular religion, whether it is the religion of their parents or of their own choosing. They further make a series of choices that result in the selection of a particular job or career. If the religious rules are seen as being important enough, the person chooses only work which allows him to comply with the rules.
There are always other choices to be made. Every choice has consequences. We prefer some consequences to others.
The key to resolving or understanding this seeming dilemma is that Christianity and capitalism are an uncanny match, with some frequently very unethical results.

Let me explain. Some people HAVE to work on Sunday. Get over it. Not everyone is a hypocrite. Every christian has their own personal relationship with God. I am a mother and a wife. I have to work regardless of what day it is. Even if the president came to town and said that he wanted to visit me, I would still have to work, Even if I just won 50 million dollars I would still have to work. Stop trying to find problems with everything.

I have a bible. I don't have enough money. The Lord will provide. Sometimes he provides overtime. If it falls on a Sunday I'm not going to second guess the Lord because of what a preacher thinks.
God helps those who help themselves.
My ex joined the seventh day advent church because she didn't want to work on Saturday for religious reasons. Now she's mad that they don't want her to eat pork or lobster.
I told her to change religion again for the food now that she no longer has a job.
EDIT: We are not supposed to give ten percent of our income to the lord. The preachers decided that's what they want for their services. Titghing is a religious scam. The Lord never gets a penny.

God did not say to literally put a stop on doing anything on Sabbath. by the way, Christ worked on sabbath, doing his ministry and stuff. remember that the bible is not to be twisted to defeat doing good. there is fallacy on the logic, there's is no point being christian then. supporting your family is not a sin. sabbth is not mandatory by the way. only a couple of special days on the liturgical calendar although it be great if you could observe sundays well.

You sound like you're able to dissect arguments pretty well. There are much more important ones than the one you've chosen to exploit. I tend to focus on how faith is the enemy of reason and that they cannot coexist. I also usually use the argument of the unintelligibility of god. Many christians cannot describe what their god is like. Because of this, god falls into agnosticism and from that point, if he cannot be described as anything with positive traits, he cannot be distinguished from nonexistance.

Religion being man made is very much about money, just take a look at the bible at see how it has been changed from God's word to man's, for him to gain and profit, God does not care if you work seven days a week. what he cares about is that you keep your true faith, and you don't need the bible, and you don't need to be a Christian

Money is a necessity of life, the bible is just fiction, the sooner the world realises that most wars and killings are religiously orientated the better the world will become.

yes we are supposed to give to the Lord one tenth of what we make..... but i think the person that wrote that is stuck in the old testament...... we don't call it Sabbath day, haha do you ever hear anyone running around saying the Sabbath day? no! and duh! you could work on the Sabbath day if he were to read the new testament that is part of the new agreement Jesus did miracles on the Sabbath day, he made a big deal about being able to work on the Sabbath day! are you sure the person who wrote that is a Christian??
here is one example about what Jesus says about working in the sabbath day.

Looks like a perfectly good answer to me. Especially when the sabbath day is only for the old covenant and has nothing to do with us in the new covenant.
