It isn't the case!
Just because one doesn't share belief in Jesus & God it doesn't mean one is against God.

God doesn't have any meaning to me at all, it doesn't exist as far as I am concerned.

So I am not against God for it doesn't exist... how can I be against what does not exist.

Some people can't stand the fact that I don't humour them in their groundless belief and try to dump negativity on me.

Shouldn't you be praying in secret as advised in your Bible in The Sermon on the Mount?

Agreed. While I know that Not everyone assumes this, I do get my share of negative comments from certain folks saying such things if I don't believe in Jesus as "god", then I hate him. That's incorrect. If I hated Jesus or "god" thoroughly, then I would NOT have my NT on my bookshelf or the Book of Hymns either, of which I had both for *years*. Plus, if I hated Jesus, then I would be actually avoiding the Religion/Spirituality "like the plague".

For those who assume this, grow some spiritual maturity and compassion. Most religious morality is based on compassion and human kindness. *hugs*

Don't worry. Even if you are against Jesus, the people condemning you are extremely unlikely to go to heaven either.

And there are a lot of 'Christians' who are horrible people who jesus would be very angry with.

I have a recollection that something like only 10 000 people are going to heaven. Some of the people I know are going to be in for a shock when the end comes.

It's a case of the simplisitic dualist mentality pushed by certain conservative (read-closed minded) individuals who see the world in black & white terms. (Not to say conservatism is a bad thing politically, just using the term from its dictionary definition.)

In other words, its a simple way for the simple minded to deal with reality.

The late anarchist Emma Goldman said, "Ignorance is the most violent element in society." Pretty true if you think about it.

i've been told that if i don't become a born-again christian, i can never be saved from the fires of hell. so, being a sucker, i joined the religious sect. but after a while, they started askin for 30% of our earnings. now they have this huge building in a prime lot. they don't pay taxes to the government and they have a lot of cars that are lined up in front of their modern building. while in front of the building are poor folks living under a bridge with filthy water flowing in this overly-polluted river. i didn't stay long to give 'em any of my hard-earned money.

Its pretty black and white. Either you are for Him, or against Him. There is no middle road. By looking at your other posts, you are against Him and are obviously showing your pain in the subject. Maybe you need to look at what is really causing your the void in your life and what is really causing this pain, and act accordingly.

We live in a dichotomous society. It's either black or white. So if you're not for the white, you must be for the black. We frown on gray, as it eludes common sense and clarity.

Luke 11:23, He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.
You either face the Lord, or have your back to Him.

You don't half believe.

You are not half against or half for someone like God.

You are here to kill and destroy.

I see through your facade plainly.

i don't know but that is a great question. i think it is that people think that you have to either believe in Jesus or not and that's how you are judge.
