Why do Americans think that they are the nation that is doing the most to fight global terrorism (read on)?

And is the most anti terrorist in the world... WHEN...

For years many Americans donated money to to the IRA (an organisation that has kiiled many people in Britian)

The CIA original funded Osama Bin Laden. The first nation to put an arrest warant against him was Libya..

They have not supported the Russians against terrorism in Checnya and people that massacred 800 children in a school.

They fough a war to help terrorist with Bin Laden links in Serbia (KLA) who even now are trying to make parts of Macedonia ans Serbia part of Greater Albania.

They had assinated a legal head of government in Chile, and helped the dictator Pinochet stay in power

And have attempted to assasinate many other legitimate heads of state.

They miltary actions have adopted terror style tatics such as carpet bombing in Vietam and Cambodia..

And often bomb wrong targets such as bomb shelters in Iraq, medical fatories in Sudan, Chinese embassies in Serbia

You are talking about the America before George Bush. Don't be so quick to jump on the "I hate America" bandwagon. Most people hate us simply because they do not enjoy the freedoms we have here and they are envious of that. Move here and change your attitude.

The American government did not fund the IRA. Some Irish-Americans did; they were wrong.

True the CIA did fund some of the Islamic fanatics who were fighting the Russians in Afghanistan. At the time we were fighting Communism..an evil totalitarian system of government.

In Serbia the US contributed troops to the United Nations who made all the discussions.
Of course this was a big mistake. I think a Democrat named Clinton was in office then!

If the CIA assassinated any foreign heads of state like in Chile it was probably because they were evil communist scum.

In all wars sometimes non-combatants (Civilians) are killed by stray bombs. The United States uses the most accurate weapons available anywhere is the world.

Finally the reason why Americans believe they are doing most of the work to fight terrorism is that it's true, we are.

Well, lets see - donating to the IRA. This would not have happened if there were not so many Irish-Americans who know just how badly they were treated by the British.

Not supporting the Russians in Chechnya - what did you expect us to do?

And besides Castro (who deserves it) who else did we try to assassinate?

And since when is 'carpet bombing' of enemy combatants a 'terror tactic?'

The American government is corupt and created the war on terrorism by planning and executing 911 and the OK City bombing and Waco, etc. in order to slowly create a police state and take our freedoms away more every day. Because America is the most powerful, best military, best weapons available and the most respected country in the world. The U.S. is a free country and other countries cannot stand that fact. When America is attacked as on 9/11 and at Pearl Harbor in 1941 its all out war on those who do.

Your points are very good though, i must admit, and i would also join you in askign Americans to justify their support of the IRA in their war against us in Britain. The bombing of the Telford Centre, the Birmingham Pub Bombing (killing hundreds in inner-city Birmingham) and the Omagh atrocity are just 3 examples. Defenders of the free world and all thats good? Yes I agree with you it's madness & double standards for the American public to sponsor terrorism in Northern Ireland.
It's one of those things I've mentioned & had a load of pointless waffle back about the Great British Empire as it was & what they did to the IRISH centuries ago! What's that got to do with right now & their fight against terrorism if they can't practice what they preach?
