Most days I feel so tired when I drive. I will feel fine before but when I'm in the car I get sleepy. Its becoming more and more frequent and it makes me nervous. i havent had any complications I just notice I get tired when i drive. Its not at any certain time, sometimes it before or after work other times its just driving home from the store. I tried shutting off everything and just concentrating, I tried turning up my music, some days nothing helps. I'm not scared i'm gonna fall asleep but I'm worried I'm not paying as much attention to the road as I should. Anyone else heard of this or feel this way??

When my sister drove me around when I was younger, she would come home, walk up the stairs and take a nap. It's funny!Like there is no expression on her face. I get tired after I drive, but I don't usually need a nap. I think it's because when I was little, I would fall asleep when we drove to places on vacation. I also think it is because the stress of driving. And another reason that just came to my mind is that when you drive, your in control of your life. It's difficult. But you'll be able to handle it! I want to thank you for giving me best answer on the drug thing. I really appreciate it!

I have this same problem, especially I know I will be driving almost all day. What I do is blare rock music (the noise will keep me awake) and turn the A/C on as cold as it can get and put it to my face. And as far as paying attention to the road, I just remember that I need to pay attention because I might get into an accident or pass a patrolman over speed limit... Hopefully it works!! Good luck sweetie!!

Yes, I get this way too especially if I drive when the sun is either rising or setting. I noticed that I get worse when I don't have enough sleep the night before. So what I did besides panic was to think of something like what I need to do when I get home, something to get me thinking about a problem and how to resolve it. Music helps only if I like the song and I can sing along with it. :)

You may not be scared you're gonna fall asleep, but I am.
Turn off the heat, have the vents or a/c blowing on you.
You surely don't want to kill someone; it'll be on your conscience your whole life. (That's how my daughter was killed.)
