All religions teach tolerance toward each other? NOT! If there are I'd like to know which ones. Organized religions are divisive and exclusionary and clearly intolerant of all others, claiming that they are the one true religion and the only way to God.
We are all on different paths to the same end, God. Each religion is but a single path to God. Each person is on their own path and at a different stage in their evolution, some more advanced than others, but we will all get there eventually.

many extremists use religion as an excuse to kill..this could be due misteachings. Politicians use religion as a blaming tool, as more than often they find it physically impossible to admit that they're wrong.
Life is a test, to make sure that u lead ur life by staying on the right path..not causing harms to other.
..is it just a coincidence that the terrorists are from coutries that are run poorly? Why do they feel that in order to get some attention from the developed countries, they have to make a spectacle of themselves? if anything, it should make everyone realise what today's 'democracy' is like..

Religion is and has been many times an easy reason to declare war with or on, like the Christian Spanians chasing away the muslims, not only for their religion, but because of their differences, if some1 who is and does completely the same as you, buy only has another religion, ppl accept him without any problem (except for extremists). If some1 is completely different AND with another religion, it's easier to blame it on the religion, cause if he had the same religion, but all different, u'd still wouldn't like him...
BTW, check the crusaders ;-) The pope declared war on all the heathens
Also check on the Romans, the emperor chooses the religion, and if u have another religion, ur hunted or already dead

They don't all teach this throughout the entirety of their teachings.
You can find parts in many religions where the text says "Kill the unbelievers" many times.
I will name and shame, and post multiple quotes if required.
However, a lot of killing is also done in the name of religion when really it is about land, resources, control and/or power. Religion can be a useful scapegoat sometimes.

Islam does not necessarily teach from the Koran your idea of tolerance. That's a popular mis-conception that their secular humanist and their clerics teach, - in contrast to the Koran.
Since man-kind is inheriently war-full in the hearts of all men, then to attack someone else, enlist the following of others, a leader needs a higher calling to achieve his objectives. This higher calling can either be in the "the name of the state" or "in the name of their god", either way, falsely invoked religion concepts get invoked over and above 'true' religion.

Religions also teach intolerance toward those not of the faith.
Now, you have to read the texts, not listen to the followers of a religion. The texts are pretty black and white about what to do with people who aren't of the faith; namely kill them.
Islam, Christianity, and even Judaism in their religious documents have no qualms about killing people of different faiths.
So... it boils down to my religious belief is right, you're wrong and an infidel dog who's going to Hell anyway, so... I get to kill you without remorse. (Same thing in reverse.)
Religion encourages discrimination and dehumanization of people who are not of the faith.
Why do you think it was so easy for Islamic terrorists to fly into the Twin Towers,or for Christians to wage the Inquisition? Religions fervor whipping up a zealous frenzy.
Now, not all people who believe in religion are murderous. 99.9% are quite peaceful and nice to be around. It's the 0.1% who are killers.
Consider the zealotry of willingness to die for a religious cause that fanatics have in them when they wage violence. You can see it in the eyes of the pro-Jihad types and the same distant look in the eyes of the religious right in America.
Religions kill reason. Once you lose your sense of reason, you lose your sense of reality, and it becomes easy to hate and kill.

I don't think the vast majority of people have read any of these religious books from start to end I know I haven't. In the Bible, it is easy to pick and choose texts to justify most views. While Jesus taught one thing, like tolerance, the Old Testament preaches homophobia. While I think it is idiotic to base all your beliefs on one book, I think it used for justification rather than as a reason in most cases. Also, Christians believe its their duty to spread their beliefs.

This is what i think, despite the fact that religion is to enlighten people and make the world better, most people follow religion to get "one up" on other people.
I'm sure we have all read honest questions by people wanting to know about God, only to get abuse like "ask Jesus... when you die" and "it's a shame you won't get to ask Jesus." ETC.
At the end of the day people can't stand their ideology being challenged, i think it isn't even a religious issue, it's just to the fact that people disagree with them.
Plus they don't practise what they preach.

Actually the people who we think make the correct interpretations make the interpertation and make us fight. There is no religion in this world that has taught to fight. Accet for SATAISM. christ taught us by presenting his left cheek when he was hit on right. I slam taught it when Muhammad forgave all who had tried to kill him. Same with every religion. It is probabaly fanatics Priest, Mullah, Rabbis and religious leaders that make us fight who wants to fight. I as a student of religion have read more than 36 text or scriptures and found no where that their prophet has told them to fight for religion whether its is Chritianity, Islam, Jewism, Judaism, Sikhism, Saiism, Bahaiism or any other ISM their prophets have always taught their followers to fight for the ione who are deprived and who need human assistance.
so
