I do not think anyone really wants to betray a good friend - he would have done it for personal reasons under duress and would have felt bad afterwards. His choices would have been his own but Jesus would have forgiven him and not held a grudge.

Yuda would not have been redeemed by betraying Christ. There are always evil people in the world, and they are not in God's will, ever. But God did know that Yuda would do this, and allowed it. It was not an assignment from God , but from satan.
The only hope for Yuda would have been hinted at when he repented and went to the priests to say he had betrayed an innocent man, and wanted to give back the money...if Yuda felt Ok with his betrayal, he would not have done this...also he committed suicide, and did not write a gospel....since he was alone when he did this, he may have experienced more remorse and may have actually been forgiven... we do not really know Yuda's last moments on earth....because no one was with him... he was found later.....even as he was hanging himself, and it was too late, his last few breaths in the last seconds may have been ones of remorse or repentence,.... we do not know yuda's ultimate fate..... only God knows.... let us just hope he made it..

Read the Gospel of Judas - can't be bothered to link to it here, but there's always google. That claims Christ specifically singled out Judas to act as his betrayer. You are correct in that without Judas there would have been no crucifixtion and no resurrection.
Unfortuantely for him, he hanged himself. Poor guy doing the Lord's work, and all, but suicide is a one way ticket to hell - so they say.
Still, its possible that when Christ visited Hell to get Adam and the other displaced non-sinners who were born before redemption that he also took Judas to heaven.
So, what i'm saying really is that Judas was doing what he was told to do, not born to do.
Now, Peter - his good mate Peter - what was his excuse? (i know, human weakness...).
Wasn't it Iscariot, anyway?
Oh, and if it was Satan's doing, shouldn't we give him some credit for helping save mankind? Or at least the part of the divine plan that gets all the dirty jobs...

I think you mixed up star wars and Christianity. Yoda was from star wars. I don't know if his last name was Escariot.
Judas Escariot was the name of the man who allegedly sold out Christ. His middle name wasn't The.
