I am 5'9 280 lbs. I want to get down to 200 or below before the end of the year. I do a lot of heavy lifting at my job so I need to counter that because I am not interested in adding muscle weight. I can keep my calorie intake at or below 2000 even though my doctor calculated that I could consume about 4000 (per day) without gaining weight.

One of the best things to try is watching what you eat and keeping your calories LOW. Try to cut out desserts or any sweets as best as possible. A great alternative to desserts or sweets high in calories/fats is Jello or eating a piece of fresh fruit. The fruity taste of both items will give you the rush you need but without all the calories.

Also, if you can, get out walking/jogging every night (or at least five times a week). If you have a rec center or a park nearby, walk/jog it as much as you can. I go to a rec center near my house with a friend and walk 2-3 miles at least five times a week. You'll truly be amazed at how much weight you lose and how trimmed your body becomes just from walking/jogging like you do. Also try doing some crunches or situps every day, as well.

It is all about the Cardio when you are trying to loose weight. Many people say that running or walking will do the trick, but in all reality, swimming will work much faster, and with better results. The resistance caused by the water helps to burn more calories at a faster rate which will in turn help you to loose weight. As an added bonus, the water is easier on joints and your body in general. If you do not know how to swim, try aqua jogging.
Another way to loose the punds safely is to start drinking green tea. When I say drink, I mean drink it a lot! If you drink around 6 glasses a day, it will help knock off those pounds and it seems to eat away at fat. (for best results use unflavored, unsweetend straight green tea) Of course green tea alone will not help. It is just to supplement the exercising and eating healthy. If you do start to drink the tea, you must not forget that tea can dehydrate your body so also be sure to drink tons of water.

eat in moderation
keep away from oily food
eat more vegetables and fruits
go for jogging everyday .
do this without fail for 3 months, and you will see the result!
