Fels Naptha soap is the best to wash the oils off immediatly on contact. And then I agree with the other person by using calamine lotion. I don't have a problem with poison oak.

ANACARDIUM 30 will cure Poison Oak Take it thrice a day half hour before meals and do not eat anything 30 minutes before and after taking the medicine !

Mix Arm and Hammer with water to get a thick paste. Apply it to the infected area and allow it dry. Repeat 3-4 times daily until the weeping stops.

You can also get a shot that will hasten the process.

All the above are good advice. If it is particularly severe, you can get prescription antiinflammatory steroid creams that are much stronger than cortisone cream, and these can help a lot. Also sysdtemic anti-inflammatory pills such as Ibuprofen or Naproxen help to a small degree.

wash often using a mild soap, keep covered with calamine lotion, if the condition persist or becomes infected see your doctor
