Dear Drew...in the begining i would like to say that Jesus cant litrally mean that or else he would be canceling and removing all other prophets that have came b4 him..im a muslim and i know u belive in Joseph,Moses, Ibraham, Noah..and all the others..i belive that every prophet has been sent by God to a specific group of people in a specific culture at a specific time to give the main message that noone and nothing is worthy to worship except Him..each group has their saviour..and the most important thing is that ur faith is in God only...
I hope i made a difference

It means that he wants you to give up time and go to church to prove you can see that there is a higher being. I think that is a load of crap, because i can prove that every day in at least a few different ways. 1 help someone else when it doesn't suit you. 2 Make someone realize they are special. 3 Don't think I am above anyone. And i am a so called non christian but i still believe in the 10 commandments.

Being an ex-christian-now-athiest, my personal beliefs are different to every other non-christian's.
If part of Christianity you tend to believe that being a good person and following god's word will get you into heaven, or else be cast into hell. The idea of "going through" Jesus to get into heaven is similar to that outlined in the parable of the goats and the sheep where Jesus states something like "if you have been good to your fellow man, then you have been good to me." The sentence you quoted was another way of saying "if you want to go to heaven, be good to one another, love one another".
But of course you knew that...
My personal beliefs are that, instead of going to heaven, hell or purgatory after you die, the body sleeps for a time before the mind awakens in a new body for a new life. In my opinions, I will not "go through" Jesus and go to the father because to me, they don't exist. And even if they did, I'm going to hell anyway. X)

Jesus, the bible, your church are all a part of your religious following. No where is it accepted as the ONLY place for God. Actually God is not found in some churches because of the worship of other deities.

It means to me that if you believe in God and Jesus you will have eternal life in Heaven. This means getting saved by the blood of God. Pray and God will forgive you of all sins and try to live your life for God and tell others about God. This is the only way to get to Heaven is to get saved by the grace of God. God bless you.

Why do we believe what jesus said? Why do I believe what your imaginary cosmic mickey mouse says?
First commandment proves other religious people will be going to hell for worshipping other idols or deities. On the other side of that, it proves how christians consider other people's beliefs being hell bound. Yet another reason for christianity being the worst religion.

it's the same in all religions only worded differently. so it doesn't mean anything to the non christians. also as u might know god lives in all of us as the soul so when we do something good it makes us happy and through this inner happiness we meet god . it just what i think and i hope it adds up as a little of your answer.

Jesus was a karma yoga,in this statement he was referring to his level of consciousness(from ordinary consciousness to god consciousness) achieved through his selfless service to mankind and the lord. a lot can be learned from what Jesus did, more than what he said

It's a regurgitation of what Krishna said hundreds of years earlier.
Incidentally, "christ" is a corruption of the Greek word "christos" (saviour), which itself is a corruption of the name Krishna. The jeezus fable is just a cobbling together of earlier myths, most notably Mithras. Look it up.
