I probably won't be able to spend more than $32,000= (Australian) and this is going to be my first car here. I would like something with a great balance of durability, fuel economy, comfort, good looks and great resell value.

Buy yourself a small car. You'll need the rest of the money to pay for the fuel.

Honda or Acura is always a great choice. They handle better than Toyotas and give you more car for the money

A land yacht
A econo box aka basic transportation
A performance car with haulin A-S-S horsepower
