I think a guy would get pissed because he would assume that the girl didn't want everyone to know because she is embarrassed by the relationship, or that she wants to keep her options open for other relationships.

Think about if you were on the receiving end of this. Wouldn't you feel wronged?

Not public knowlege? If you are serious about your relationship, not ashamed or hiding it why shouldn't others know? Privacy is not sharing inttimate details, a relationship should be public knowledge because you care about each other and are happy for others to know.

Im a chick, but i know i would get highly offended - its like the other half is ashamed to be with you. Its nothing about privacy, i mean, everyone doesnt need to know your business, but theres nothing wrong with them knowing your in a relationship

because for a guy, not getting known about a relationship(and wanting to be known) is like telling him that he does not even matter.
he will see this like you do not care about him, or something.., i don't know exactly, becouse i don't know this guy.
but, if you are uncertain about this relationship, then it is a good decizion not t make it public, and better wait 4 a while 2 see how things are going.
if he doesn't see this, too bad...

He has every right to be pissed. Why does it have to be a secret if you are with him shouldn't you be proud of him also and want to tell the world how you feel about him or are you worried your other boyfriend might find out.

I guess because her insistence on something like that makes him assume she has hidden intentions, i.e. another boyfriend somewhere else, or that she wants to spare herself the embarrassment or blame once she dumps him etc etc. besides that it is not the normal thing to do, when you love someone and you want to be with him/her, you should be proud of them and wanting the whole world to know how happy you are.

Sounds like this guy is a glory hound, with a desperate need for publicity and notoriety.

b/c it's part of a relationship.......obviously deep down that person has something to hide. he's just wanting to show his love for her and not have to hide it like an idiot.
