I'm a Catholic. In my recent experience, to become a good person is to become a Hindu. To be honest, I'm considering it myself.

I'd say before you make any decision, stop and think. We all have the ability to make the best possible decision in life, however many people follow their emotions without thinking first. Emotions aren't bad, but we need to think our decisions through before making a move. Everyone at some point follows fear or anger without thinking of the consequences of their actions. Even love can have a negative effect on us when we don't think our actions through.

In addition to the above, to love others the way you love yourself. (to broaden it, how do you treat yourself?, what would you not want done to you?, how do you expect others to treat you?) Also, do the right thing at all time (don't lie don't cheat don't gossip to name a few)Once you have achieved this be careful not to judge others by the standards you have put on yourself.
You also need to realize that you are human and you can't be good all the time even if you wanted to.
By the way I don't consider myself good. Mistakes?I have plenty.

'For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God', but in allowing God to dwell within us through accepting Jesus we are enabled to do good and amazing things for Him and for the good of all, we desire and are enabled to do more and more good and less and less bad.
