Hinduism is older than Christianity and Islam. I am not offending here someone, but just stating a historical fact. No religious books have been written and no rules of Hinduism have been laid down since Christianity or Islam has come. So, how can there be a rule which gives reference to Christianity or Islam or any of the recent religions???

Secondly, nowhere does the news piece says that the converteds should be raped. Would you like to read the news again?? Don't twist the facts.

Hinduism is just a catch all label for an extremely wide range of beliefs that have only a little congruency, it even says in the article you posted, "Under the tribal system operating in isolated districts of India and Pakistan, village leaders sometimes order gang rapes against women for various social “transgressions.”" and it says that they were "Hindu activists." so we are talking about a very small group of backward people who justify their horrible acts with their religion. you find this among any religion, yes even Christianity.

I am a Hindu & i have no idea why they did this Hinduism doesnt teach anything like this . and maybe they were warned by there family members but they still converted that might be the problem.

I am Hindu born in India and I always believed not eating meat ,not troubling/bullying anybody, generating minimum non degradable waste and respecting others opinions about religion makes them Hindu. Conversion is mere show what one feels in his mind(Atma) is important. Since girl you want to marry is technically Hindu why do you want to do some ceremony to convert her just talk to her in details what she does on daily basis like eating meat. Ask her if she will mind if you read your kids Ramayana or Mahabharata? If no then I think your kids will be Hindu(since you are also Hindu). Beware this might become everyday discussion/argument issue between husband and wife once kids are born so If your kids following her religion bothers you too much then don't marry her.

Hinduism does not teach rape etc.We should not classify "rapists" as Hindu,Muslim,Christian etc.They are criminals.The law of the land punishes them.Hinduism preaches that an impartial diary of everyone is maintained by Chitragupt(an official recorder of all actions of all humans)and after death people get punished or rewarded as per that list.

Christian evangelists do not tire calling tribals non Hindus yet when something unwanted happens even baptised tribals are declared Hindus by church! Often the clashes between converted and non converted tribals are called clashes between Hindus and Christians.

Students of the School of Medical Education here say that Ranjith Varghese, the prime accused in the sexual abuse of a Hindu nursing student, was a close associate of K P Yohannan, the Thiruvalla based evangelist who is engaged in proselitization all over the state on a war footing.

It is really sad if anybody was raped for any reason.

But There are too many cases in India where Christians claim such things which turn out just hoax . Last time they created such drama it turned out the rapists were Christian themselves just belonged to another group. And church blamed Hindus as it is not ready to accept the problem within.

The fact is that many times Christians do Kidnap Hindu girls and threaten the family that if they do not convert , girl will be raped.

The Prosecution was quoted as saying that Sukhni Bai, who is a Christian, repeatedly forced her husband Manglu Ram Oraon to convert and on this issue the couple quarreled on Jul 03, 2005. The couple entered into an argument over the matter on July 3, 2005 when the wife hit her husband Manglu with a pestle killing him on the spot.

The list can go on.

Point is that Church and evangelicans call simple crimes against humanity as crimes by Hindus against Christianity. In a case a mantal patient threw some stones at a church building and a glass pan was broken. The man was caught and sent back to asylum. But Church called it a percecution.

Really when you do that you loose sympathy which should be there in such a case as rape.

Like anothr nun who claimed rape in Orissa to hide that she was alredy three month pregnant. Father of the child was the pasteur.

Stop giving communal turn and even making up stories. You should not blame entire community for a few criminals.
