My wife would like to trace her family history. Her great grandfather was Marcus Visnevski (phonetic spelling), who was from a small town outside of Chernobyl, Russia. He fled from Russia to England during World War II. Could anyone please help.

I found two Visnevski on rootsweb, one had parents the other had just a spouse. If this person just started the last name Visnevski, he may be of help. At the top of his web page is his email address. Both of the web pages are his. There wasn't much info at all listed, so I presumed he just started. This is a free site, and I have found many distant cousins who we share the same great-grandfather.

I know Marek Wiśniewski, but he is young boy. And Wiśniewski is one of the most popular surnames in Poland right now.
