the Bible may talk of practices like consuming the meat and flesh of Jesus, and other rituals. However, Jesus also mentions how one should pray - alone in a room. the prayer he has given is one that lasts 3 mins max. The concept of church is the opposite to this. not just chucrch, but prayer gatherings, conventions etc.

Well, God is omnipresent but we are not. We should not go to church just to hear a sermon, but to give (and I do not mean just money) We give of ourselves when we see a friend that looks like they are hurting when we take them aside and pray with them . We can also share our hurts and concern and ask others to pray for us. We each have burdens to bear and when we go to church, we can share each others burdens and make them bearable. We are told to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. We can not gain as much strength for our walk with the LORD if we are doing it alone, just as a lone solider would not scout out an enemy area alone because they would be easily picked off by the enemy...a Christian going it "alone" would be too because the way GOD answers our prayers most often...is through other people...and we will find them most often at a Bible believing church.

The bible does not talk of consuming the flesh, your conscience might do that.

Actually Our Lord had His last supper on earth with his disciples, and we celebrate the last supper in remembrance of Him, until He comes again.

You can pray in your room, Paul said "Pray without ceasing." Church if for fellowship, singing praises to our Creator, and people do care about each other, when one or another is sick and prayers are said for them. In actuality, Christ is the head and the church is the body.

Where is God?
God lives, not everywhere but somewhere. A thought of God almost always takes the eyes upwards, as though one is perhaps expecting a face to miraculously appear from behind the clouds or to beam down from the moon. Thoughts are powerful. They link one soul to another. If they are properly channelled, thoughts can even go where only the soul can travel – beyond the moon and stars to a dimension of golden red light, the original home of all souls. Immersed in the experience of the warmth of this light, the soul feels as though it is truly at home at last, and with God.

If you look at a fire burning and the coals of the fire are many and they are hott, but if you take a coal out of the fire a coal thats one coal; and put it on the ground 10 feet away by itself it will burn out and be come cold that is what church is all about. I need church so I dont become self rightous and it's good to be around people who influence you in positive ways. Im not saying that pei\ople who go to church are better than people who dont. I just would rather be with the other hot coals then by my self Iron sharpens Iron my frend God bless you Good night.

Interesting argument, but here comes my counter argument.

Firstly many people do not know how to pray outside of church. Yes, they know the basic prayers, but they get to busy to take a moment to pray without church.

I mean could you imagine a World without church. Many would never pray. They will keep putting it off and putting it off. "Oh, I can do it tomarrow" "Oh, I can do it the next day" ect. ect. ect.

As for Jesus Christ, he did go to Church on a regular basis, they only list a few times in the Bible, but they also didn't say every time he ate either.

No, I do not believe church is right for me, but for most I think it is. See, I am a guy who prays about 2 hrs a day every day. I do not believe in conventional prayer, because it's not my words. If I said those prayers I would be reciting and not praying. To others this is o.k.

No, I'm not saying I better then others. All I'm saying is we all have our different ways to God.

All I have to say is this:

You can not believe in not going to church for your own selfish desires (to busy, you think it's boring, ect.)

Not going to church makes your job harder. For not only do you have to study your religion and pray to God regularly without Church, but you still need to proffess your faith and stick up for it. Yes, I understand about alone in a room, but I also know you should never deny God either. No you don't need to convert, but you can't hide your religion either as if you were ashamed of it.

"You will deny me 3 times before the cock crows" The time is drawing near when we will all be tested in this same manner.

Because man needs fellowship. We gather all together in one place to worship because that pleases God. That is not to say private prayer is not wanted, in fact God wants us to do that too. But church is something special. Its like a public declaration of faith.

You doNOT go to church to pray.A temple, a mosque, gurudwara are all places of fellowship wherre one comes for communion. The cow has blood in whole body but it gives milk at one place. All places of worship are places to gather, exchange greetings, learn, socialise, and be part of a big fellowship through communion.Prayer is done as you have said alone in room.

To believe in God is one thing. To learn, to study and to grow in His grace , church is a perfect place to go. You don't lrarn to fish or drive a car by yourself. Someone older and wiser helps you. Church is full of mature christians who set examples and are able to help you answer questions about your faith. Sure God is everywhere, but churches provide a meeting place for all people to learn more about our risen Lord.

I go to church to learn and for fellowship.
I am no closer to God in the church than I am in my own house.
God is everywhere.
I pray in the church, just as I do at home.

one doesn't have to only that it is considered that like golfers they play together and musicians play together so should Church goers go together so to speak.............Jesus also says do this in my name. They actually met in the outer courts and in houses not in the synagogue at all. Church comes from "and upon this rock I shall build my church." Talking upon and about Peter one of his desciples.
