Weed, or 'Pot' is actually more harmful, physically, as it can cause bronchial problems due to having more tar content than tobacco if smoked. If one were to use it in cooking, there is no evidence to confirm it has any detrimental effect, other than the possibility of bringing out any dormant Schizophrenic, or similar psychological abnormalities already present within the individual.
LSD, has no evidence associated with it to say it is physically harmful to a user. There have been no evidence of long or short term damage to ones mental health either(except from over-indulgence). To date, there has been no evidence to prove anyone has died as a direct result of taking LSD. However, it is one of the most powerful psychoactive drugs known to man, so the danger lies through its ability to distort the users perception of Reality, for example, making one believe they could fly, to the point of jumping off a building with no doubt in their minds. Obviously therein would lie the danger!
In my youth, I experimented with LSD and Marijuana, amongst other drugs, without any adverse effects, but it is wholly dependent on ones state of mind and mental strength, in my opinion, as others I knew, did have short term problems, such as Paranoia, Anxiety and the like, although as soon as they stopped using certain substances, those symptoms soon vanished.
As for their legality, Alcohol and Tobacco are many times more harmful than Pot and LSD not only due to their highly addictive properties. Why are they STILL legal? Well, mainly because of the massive amount of revenue they produce and the power the people behind them have, in the political world, to keep them legal.
I hope this helped some.
