Religion is largely for people who either can't or don't want to think for themselves. I have to laugh every time I hear one of them say "turn your life over to Jesus and let Him solve all your problems." Well I have bad news for you, Jesus isn't going to pay off your credit card debt, or make you more attractive, or less of a dullard, just because you go to church and sing about Him. Science attempts to find out the truth, religion attempts to obfuscate it.

The Bible's not the absolute truth. Parts of it, maybe, but not all of it. The contents of the Bible were voted upon several many years ago.
And the Bible, being considered the end-all, be-all of all things, is one of the most frequently quoted writings in existence. Strangely enough, you can probably back up any argument (even abortion) with verses of the Bible. It's not that the book contradicts itself, it's that it gives examples of what -shouldn't- be, and people take these snippets out of context.
And most people are too chicken to express their true feelings anyway.

The Bible is the absolute truth. When I quote the Bible I do so to answer a persons question, the Bible has the answers. Just read Matthew and Daniel and Revelations and you will see that all they say is coming true in the world today.

How could the "present " bible be the absolute truth..!!! the present bible ( so far I think they are 23 bibles) were written by humans, and you could sight the influence of the person who wrote it and his mentality, and the his time and what thinking the society had at such time...how could it be the absolute truth....
The only Book of Allah (God) which is, and will continue to be, in it's original form is The Qura'an. Which makes the Qura'an The absolute truth and which makes Islam The only True and absolute Religion.

The bible can be interpreted as one feels the need. There are stories about so many things and riddles that you can decipher and make it about whatever you want. People who constantly quote the bible dont' really have a stand point therefore have to use a reference alll the time.

The Bible is nothing more than words that if put to practice might help one discover Truth. The same is true of the Dhamma, the Quran, the Torah and any book by Dr. Seuss.

Because they don't feel, it has a stronger source.
Even if you do not associate with a bible based religion, it contains a lot of wisdom, I am Jewish so I am only refering to the five books of Moses, Prophets and Writings (to name a few Proverbs and Ecclasticies, which were written by King Solomon and he was well known for his wisdom)

The absolute moral truth, yes. But I think people should translate the message into their own words or at least understand the significance of what they're quoting, instead of just parroting verses.

Absolute truth is beyond words.Anything else is at the very best only temprarily relevant, since all things are in a constant state of flux and nothing ever stays the same. There is no such thing as a fixed and unchangeable truth.

EXACTLY!!! I hate how people conform to an ancient book that is made up of hearsay. People become so closed minded and say things like "I don't believe in gay marriage because the Bible says it's wrong" or something.
