Hi. I often worry about the EXACT same things you do. Maybe this could help...
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Psalm 147.11-The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Psalm 103:13-Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Also just like you, I didn't understand why God would let things that trouble us happen either. Like... why would something upsetting be His Will? Why would he allow us to be in pain? Mostly why do people always thank God for the good in their life and not curse Him for the bad? Throughout the years many different people had told me the same thing. They all said that God will only give you what he knows you can handle - good or bad. So if you don't think that you are able to get through a difficult time easily, you need to have faith through him.

Okay, so I have no need to be scared of God, right?
Despite how He has punished people in the past and continues to punish us in different ways for stuff we had no part in (such as the Garden of Eden). Or how God can allow stuff to happen that troubles us.
I am Christian, but hey, everyone wonders about certain things, right? In fact, at one time I was so scared of God that if the thought of Him being there with me came across my mind, I would get rather uneasy.

People may wonder why, if God exists, He doesn’t wave a magic wand and fix things, making or at least influencing everyone so that they do exactly what they ‘should’ do. But God never takes away anyone’s freedom of choice. God’s wisdom is to recognize and respect each soul’s individual identity, freedom and inherent goodness. God shares knowledge – a profound understanding of the dualities and dilemmas of love and hatred, happiness and sorrow, victory and defeat, etc. – but He does not make our choices for us. The soul is free to choose ‘to be or not to be’, ‘to love or not to love’. God’s love strengthens the soul’s will to free itself from the distresses caused by vices such as selfish desire, anger, fear, ego and attachment. God’s power helps the soul to recognize its highest potential and to aim for perfection by practising the art of simple living and high thinking. Such practice by a significant number of souls eventually brings about positive change in the whole of humanity.
When you learn to tune your mind in meditation to the mind of God, then whatever the situation, you always have a source of help and strength to draw upon – an infinite reservoir of power and virtues that is only a thought away

What you are saying there, could be a guilt thing right? if not then you may have an unhealthy fear of God, while it is healthy, to have a fear of displeasing God you do not need to be fearful of God as if He were going to do something nasty to you because he doesn't do that! Just have a look at James 1:13 to see that with evil things God does not try anyone but you may have experienced harsh punishment in your life from I don't know who, but that you should not attribute to God, because although there are many misguided ideas ob God and his so called cruelty those ideas are very missgiuded and are ideas from those who do not know God otherwise those ideas would not be around!

Why would you be scared of God? The things that are happening now a days is not punishment to anyone. If your scared is because your not doing good with the word of God. You say your Christian read the Bible and let me know where it says that we are all going to be punish for what Adam & Eve did?

First you sdhould question if he exists. Is there any proof?
Jesus existed - he was human. From ancient times Gods had been created by humans as a kind of "stick" to go on and blame themselves or even to use excuses to do something. See even the 7 sins have been changed by the Church. Gods die... See the old mithologies... But die in a metaphorically way - because we create them, and not the contrary.
If you do not believe in this God - no need to be scared of something that merely does not exist.

Scared of God, no. Fear God yes. There is a difference.
To Fear God is to fear your father. God wants us to see him as our father. (The father of fathers in a sense). Example when you did something as a child, (if you father was around), you never want you father to find out for Fear of his correction. So God expects us to be that way towards him. Which is hard seeing how we can't see him. But did we always see our dads when we did wrong. NO. It was knowing what would happen if I did wrong that put the fear in us, thus we tried to do right. But the great thing about God is like a father even in corrections, no matter how
severe, God still loves and that is what a father does.
Don't be scared, just understand who he is and respect that and He will do the rest.

i don't understand where you're coming from here. if you are a Christian, and you say you are, then you believe in the Bible as the inspired Word of God. Are we together so far?
And the Bible is not only the inspired Word of God, but is also the inerrant Word of God. Are we still together?
Grab your Bible. I'll wait. No, that's a Penthouse, keep looking. OK---finally found your Bible, eh? Had it stored away in the back of the closet for safekeeping---good thinking Einstein.
Read the Book of Job. I'll wait. I've already read it, several times.
Job is afflicted with the loss of all his material possessions, the loss of his children and finally the loss of his good health. Several people including his wife, urge him to 'curse God and die'. For the most part, Job holds fast to his faith in God. But after a while he begins to feel sorry for himself and begins to berate God for allowing such bad things to happen to him. Here is how God answers Job:
1: Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind:
2: "Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
3: Gird up your loins like a man, I will question you, and you shall declare to me.
4: "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.
5: Who determined its measurements -- surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?
6: On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone,
7: when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8: "Or who shut in the sea with doors, when it burst forth from the womb;
9: when I made clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10: and prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors,
11: and said, `Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed'?
12: "Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place,
13: that it might take hold of the skirts of the earth, and the wicked be shaken out of it?
14: It is changed like clay under the seal, and it is dyed like a garment.
15: From the wicked their light is withheld, and their uplifted arm is broken.
16: "Have you entered into the springs of the sea, or walked in the recesses of the deep?
17: Have the gates of death been revealed to you, or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
18: Have you comprehended the expanse of the earth? Declare, if you know all this.
19: "Where is the way to the dwelling of light, and where is the place of darkness,
20: that you may take it to its territory and that you may discern the paths to its home?
21: You know, for you were born then, and the number of your days is great!
22: "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
23: which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?
24: What is the way to the place where the light is distributed, or where the east wind is scattered upon the earth?
25: "Who has cleft a channel for the torrents of rain, and a way for the thunderbolt,
26: to bring rain on a land where no man is, on the desert in which there is no man;
27: to satisfy the waste and desolate land, and to make the ground put forth grass?
28: "Has the rain a father, or who has begotten the drops of dew?
29: From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who has given birth to the hoarfrost of heaven?
30: The waters become hard like stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
31: "Can you bind the chains of the Plei'ades, or loose the cords of Orion?
32: Can you lead forth the Maz'zaroth in their season, or can you guide the Bear with its children?
33: Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth?
34: "Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, that a flood of waters may cover you?
35: Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go and say to you, `Here we are'?
36: Who has put wisdom in the clouds, or given understanding to the mists?
37: Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can tilt the waterskins of the heavens,
38: when the dust runs into a mass and the clods cleave fast together?
39: "Can you hunt the prey for the lion, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
40: when they crouch in their dens, or lie in wait in their covert?
41: Who provides for the raven its prey, when its young ones cry to God, and wander about for lack of food?
OK---this is just Chapter 38. The Lord continues to answer Job in Chapters 39 and 40.
You believe all this. as you said you are a Christian.
How could you NOT be afraid of a God so powerful to have done all these things? A wise man fears the Lord!
Our ONLY salavation is that God loves us and sent His only Son to die for us and pay our way into Heaven if we believe in Him and ask his forgiveness.
And yes, I fear the Lord. But I love Him as well. I'm thinking that if you don't fear the Lord, you don't respect him. And I don't think the Lord would have much use for disrespect.
Keep reading Job---its a great lesson.

Satan came to the Garden of Eden illegally causing mankind to be in need of a Savior. God is not punishing us. Don't be so quick to blame God for everything. He made a way out for us. That's a good thing, not a bad punishing thing. God is for ya, not against ya. God is the one and only thing in the universe you do not need to fear. To "fear Him" is to be in awe of Him.

The bible says in proverbs the begining of wisdom is to have the fear of God. It is good and right to be scared of what God can do to us. It was suposed to get the jews who had no fear of any repacutions of any thing to get them to obey. They chose not to. God knew this so he sent his son to die for us. So we can have a relationship with God almighty and Know that you are saved by grace not just by acts alone. But we are held responsable for our actions. We don't use Grace as a debit card to sin. Live your life the best way you can. Do good when ever you can. You will sin. Just know that God has plans for you. Read Jerimiah 29:11
Bad things happen for the battle isn't earthy but agains the dark forces of this relm. That is in Galations I think check it out. But I have been a Christian for over 10 years now and I have had some highs and lows. God I know is with me what ever I do but also there is one other who is with me who wants to see me fail and fall that is the evil one. You know who.
