No. We're "in life" because our parents had sex.

Why in this life in every life we have to make money and also have fun. But still you find many who do not bother for money nor for fun.
Either you be a KING and enjoy life and fun or be a saint who has renounced the world and dont bother for money.
But remember if you have no money there is no life. Even your mother, your wife would not respect you unless you have MONEY.
So you have to work and get as much money as you want and once having got it and not getting any more pleasure from possession of money start donating it, spending it on charity and see the smiles on the face of the needy and get the fun out of it.
So Have I understood the undercurrent thought of your sentence and the true meaning of your question.

Our original purpose was to reproduce. But our species has become so dominant that we're overpopulating and facing starvation in the next century or so.
Since reproduction is no longer our purpose, our purpose is whatever we choose it to be. I believe our purpose is to make each other as happy as possible before we die, and extend our habitat into space so we have more room to reproduce in (which tends to make a lot of people happy, new grandmas in particular).

Well it depends on what you mean by fun. If you mean fun in a bad way, then no. Because in actuality, things that may seem fun always end up ruining your life.

The Christian God created us to live in daily relationship with Him (based on what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross).
For a brief explanation of God's purposes in creating the Universe and human beings, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/new/godspurposes.html

This is a funny question!! Hell no!! That's not WHY we are here! I think the reasons why we are here lie in our unseen motives behind what we do, and how we feel when and after we do them---
