No, suicidal urges do not make you psychotic. Psychosis occurs when people lose the ability to distinguish what is real and what isn't and are usually a grave danger to themselves or others. Psychotic people are dangerous. They can hallucinate and have delusions. But, being suicidal is a warning sign and you should seek professional help from a mental health professional to be evaluated. They may refer you to a psychiatrist who may be able to prescribe a medication that will help with your suicidal ideation.

Suicidal urges are a symptom of mental illness, and the causes are usually depression, anxiety, and low-self-esteem. A word describing it is "Anhedonia"--meaning that you get no pleasure out of living.
Try reading some Stoicism and Buddhism. It's true that living involves suffering. But it is temporary, after all. No sense rushing death; it will happen someday all by itself.
Just first, don't dwell on it so much. Stop and smell the roses. Take up a hobby involving beauty,
like photography or painting.
These urges are in your own mind, and your own mind can change.Let it change, by "letting go and
letting God" take over.

Suicidal urges mean that you have a major problem that a health professional should be aware of. You need to talk to someone that can help you (doctor) or at least a friend that can do something. Yeah, this thought is a real problem...there is help for you! Trust me, talk to someone now - no matter what time it is or what you're doing. Your life is precious, my dear.

Suicide and psychosis are almost an opposite reaction to a situation, suicide is self directed and psychosis is an aggresive violent tendency directed at others suicidal thoughts are primarily a result of severe depression, a feeling of desperation or hopelessness, either way you need to get help for yourself or whomever this person might be if not you.

What the f()ck do you mean you hate medications! - It's the drugs that you are doing that is helping your suicidal urges!
It's the chicken or the egg, man. - Who really cares. But you have to stop the drugs first!!!

I don't know how you define psychotic-I think many people have the urge to committ suicide at times. I would talk to a doctor, psycholgist, cousnelor, crisis line etc. If you have a plan, go to the nearest ER.

Dear Friend,
If you can "stand" religion enough to visit this website: www.lwf.org
then try it. Click on their online store then "strength and encouragement" then "VHS-video tapes" and then see what may help you there. Maybe try: Why do I exist?#2427V or You are never a failure until you quit#1437V or Living in the sunshine#1652V. Doctor and Pastor Adrian Rogers has helped me through more than he'll ever know. Please, let your heart and mind be open to honest, loving, sincere help. May God Bless You and Strengthen You.

If you are questioning it then most likely not. Please seek professional help for these urges. It may seem like there is no other way out but there always is and it is always better than death.
