Unless there is hot sun you wont appreciate the shade under a tree.
You feel happy when you get good food when you are hungry.
same way when you get cool water to drink when you are in a desert.
Every coin has two sides. So what you call as pain is the opposite side of pleasure, Same goes for sorrows/happiness.

The idea is the only by tough problems, sorrows, pain etc you become a matured person to realise that no work no pay, no efforts no results, no problem no life.
Life is like swimming in a river against the current. To go forward you have to storke well. Even to remain where you are and not carried away you have to keep stroking as while in floating
Your parents sacrificed their comforts for you. You have to sacrifice your comforts for your children
There is a pleasure in that sacrifice, the pains, in facing the problems and soliving, achieving etc. You get a kick
Otherwise what a boring challengeless life it would be.

Basic to human nature, among many other tendencies of course, is selfishness - which, when there is no reason to live otherwise, dominates decision making processes.

Result? Pain, sorrow, problems in life.

One responder says "Men."

Well, God made women and children to be among the reasons men should live otherwise.

Functional families are intended to be a primary source of joy and satisfaction, "For there the LORD bestows His blessing..." from Ps133.

Like everything else worth the effort, though, family life requires selfless personal sacrifice. (and not just from the men, young lady with the sly remark)

So now we are full circle to the source of the problem: selfishness.

Because humans or essentially not that different from other animal species. Animals in the wild daily confront life, death and constant challenges to their survival. Simply put (with apologies to Darwin), the toughest survive. Others give way and suffer the consequences -- perhaps not death, but a diminished quality of life. All of us owe each other the determination to do the very best with what we have, and to work at getting better while not putting others in danger.

People create alot of their own problems and sorrows and what is perceived as pain in a choice that is made to feel that way. You can choose to NOT have these things in your life......Yes, you can....decide not to be sad, its that simple. Decide not to be mad, or not to worry about things you have not control over, and take control over the things you can and take care of the issues that cause problems, yes, its that simple.

Because we've lost the ability to resolve our emotional hurts while we're young from well-meaning, but mistaken people, who tell us not to cry or get angry etc., and that is the very thing we need to do to mend our bruised hearts, so that we don't grow up to do the same things to our children. Still it's not too late even after we're grown up if we can find a willing friend who will let us do this and we can return the favor to them. Try it and see.

4 million years ago, we learned speech. This enabled the weaker peoples to kill or drive out the bullies. This led to a state of US verses THEM. We don't trust people who are different.

You need to learn to focus on the good and remember the happy times, otherwise the bad will bring you down.
