Did you recently start your medication? If it wasn't an anti-anxiety, example Xanax or Ativan, or Klonopin, most likely you are on an anti-depressant, Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, etc-and those take weeks before you feel a difference, and this group sometimes makes the panic worse before getting better. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is best when used in conjunction with medicine to overcome panic attacks, they teach you diaphragmatic breathing, etc.

Many anti-anxiety meds can actually cause panic attacks since there is a rebound reaction as the drugs wear off. See a physician who specializes in treating panic attacks.

I have had panic attacks going on 8 years now but I also suffer from chrinic anxiety. I have tried many meds antidepressants do not work on me they increase my disorder. I take a very low dose of clnosepam. If these are new to you it will be hard at first but soon you realize what it is you are experiencing they will diminish. I deal with mine on a daily basis but now they are not as scary and not as fierce take a deep breath and realize this is not going to last and there is nothing to fear.
you will be fine and symptoms will!!! decrease untill they are gone
good luck

I'm in the process of recovering from panic attacks, and as far as I know, meds are not the way out. I combine meditation with a new method of accupressure called EFT which is a simple method which you can learn online. The basic idea is to calm yourself down, take a good look at your life and find out what experience is causing it. Once you find that out, it is very easy to neutralize using EFT. Loving yourself, being your best friend and hanging in there with faith until you recover are some very important things.
P.S.
It will take time, but you will definitely recover.
Best of luck!

according to psychologists you have to find what is it that cause those panic attacks and try to get familiar with the cause or roots to this them. (when a person loves chocolate and goes to work at a chocolate factory and stops liking chocolate is a good example of how to get familiar with them )look for the causes of this panic attacks. if they are stress related or just a situation or a thing that is causing it, try to get used to it.Or according to freud u can use religion as a defense mechanism.(embrace religion as a counter, (shelter) where u can fight the panic attacks (God will help me through this, I have faith in him that he will not abandon me etc ) it is my believe that it works better
