Ireland has a pitiful coastguard and North Americans here are overlooked by the authorities because they are so busy with the huge influx of Eastern European immigrants recently.
So, if you can actually get a boat to bring you over without one, you might actually get away with it fro a time. But eventually you'll have to register and ask not to be deported if you wanna earn any kind of living here.

Pretty much impossible. They will not let you into Ireland without a passport.
The only way to cross the Atlantic by ship as a passenger is by cruise line. Most sail out of New York. From Canada, some do stop in St Johns before crossing.
If you are sailing by yourself, it would still be a major undertaking. The Atlantic is smaller than the Pacific, but still a challenge.

Not very easy.
The north atlantic is pretty dangerous. I'm pretty sure the Titanic sunk somewhere up there.
