The Marines have more than 176,000 active-duty troops. (2004)

The Marine Corps is the second smallest of the five branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard) of the U.S. military, with 180,000 active and 40,000 reserve Marines as of 2005.

We are allotted about 183,000 on active duty and we have another 40k in the selected Marine Reserve with another 110k in the Individual ready reserve. So about 320k marines still available to be called to duty.

once a Marine, always a Marine.

At any given time there are +/- 127K active duty, +/-30K reserve, +/- 5K fleet reserve (retirees that are eligible to be recalled [i.e. special forces, generals, Sgts. Maj, or other special duty Marines])
