The Element has one of the highest safety ratings of all the cars on the road. You might also check out the land rover, they have a small suv that is about the price of the element and has an amazing safety ratings. I drive a Ford Escape, not too bad on the raings. The only thing about the element is that it doesn't have a middle safety belt, so you might run into problems with that. It also only seats 4, so if you plan on expanding your family quickly, it may not be big enough. The Subaru Forester has really great safety ratings, The volvo suv has great ones too. Thats all I can think of right now. Hopefully this helps you out some. Good Luck!!

Neither. The Honda Element is fairly new and the BMW X3 is just way to expensive for a 15/16 year old. She WILL crash or dent the car within the first year and this is a FACT not a rant or opinion. Try getting a used 2002 and under Honda Civic. It will take her a long way and insurance will not kill you in payments.

Yeah, it's safe. But if you are having more than one kid, you'll need a bigger car. Unless you are thinking of trading it in within 2 or 3 years.

When they become older, they'll probably go on play dates or want to take a friend or two with them to a kid museum or park. And kids that age really should be sitting in the back where it is safe and not in the front. So that only leaves a seat for an extra sibling and no friend.

Just a thought!

It's a safe car and it's got the advantage of holding lots of stuff and being easy to clean. I'm not sure how easy it is to get a child seat latched onto those convertible rear seats, though. You might want to lug your car seat over to the dealer and try it out.

Ehh... I guess, it's not bad, but I'd really suggest upgrading into CRV better!!! That SUV is a solid lil' cute ute! It's safe, comfy, reliable and can hold it's own off-road if needed, as well as on a highway. Get the EX tho, awd drive is great.
