Usually a smoothie is some blend of yogurt, fruit/fruit juice, and ice. There are a lot of ways to make 'em to suit your taste. If you're on a strict diet, you may consider just using fruit, juice, and ice. I wouldn't recommend this exclusively, though, because you do need some protien in your diet - and the fruits/veggies alone are not enough. My favorite smoothie mix is as follows:
1/2 cup skim milk or fat free soy milk
1/2 cup fat free yogurt (strawberry is my favorite)
1/2 cup of your favorite juice (I like Mango Orange)
2-3 frozen whole strawberries
handful frozen rasperries
1 ripe banana
Trader Joes is my favorite store to buy frozen fruit at, by the way, but I'm sure any brand of non-sweetened frozen fruit will do just fine.
Blend all this together (in a regular mixer) and add a few ice-cubes at a time until the mixture becomes nice and thick. Pour into a cup with a straw and enjoy. Keep the remaining mixture in the mixer in the freezer. When you want to have more, add a little juice and scrape down the sides and blend for more.
You can adjust the ingredients as you like, maybe substitute peaches or mango for the banana, for example...any fruit that you like will be delicious and healthy! Just don't over-do the servings that you drink per meal...since the calories can vary depending on what you put into the mixer and how much you have at one time. Good luck!

You can make a fruit smoothie by mixing fresh & or frozen fruits or berries with an immersion blender in the mixing cup that comes with it (Kitchenaide makes a great one). You can add fruit juice, yogurt, milk, or soy milk to thin it out if it is too thick. Or you can use a regular blender if you don't have an immersion blender. If you use a regular blender, you can add ice to make it frosty.
You really shouldn't restrict yourself to just fruits and vegetables, although eating a lot of these is a good idea. You will miss important nutrients from whole grains, low fat dairy (yogurt and milk) and lean protein sources. Even when trying to lose weight, it is important to eat small amounts of healthy fats such as olive oil, seeds, nuts, and avocados.

Silken tofu may also be further for a relatively healthful shake, I do not occur to handle it however plenty of persons do. I use low fats vanilla yogurt, a million box, a million/two cup no sugar further fruit juice and a million cup entire fruit, mainly frozen for texture and temperature, generally a small banana, if I have it. This makes 2, one for me and one for my husband.
