...like severe schizophrenia, or the ones referred to as "vegetables"...the ones not able to enjoy life, whatsoever. I guess this teaches us to care for others and nurture without being given back, but it still bothers me. Why do they have to suffer and not have much--if any quality of life ? This bothers me...

We have no answer to this question of why some people have to have mental or physical illness.
Maybe they can inspire us, rather than bother us because they continue.
Many normal people just give up on life, and many people struggle to live through each day.
The design of this earth and the lives here are not our own.
St. Paul said that here we see things through a glass darkly, but in the next life, we will see clearly.

It's good that you care.

The honest questions of the young are gratifying. It seems there are a few non-players still out there. I just hope they won't be the outsiders that get depression later on in life. I remember my days of youth and thinking much the same thing. I even did an essay in college on Freud. I was just an outsider is all. Well those who care may be able to remain kind as they join the winner-players and their cruel ways. Testosterone makes bulls look damn mean.

I totally agree with you in every aspect! I have a learning disorder than can be helped, but I'm turned away because people don't know how to help, but yet won't take the time to try. I haven't found anyone who'll offer. They say to me, "Don't wrry about it, it's not a big deal." Yeah, it's not a big deal for most of us to get up and walk around. But tell that to those in wheelchairs.

I strongly feel for those who are bed-ridden, for whatever the reason that got them there.

In a way, their purpose in life is to teach us all not to take what we have for granted. It's upsetting, though, that they have to do without to show us that lesson. Mostly, that's their reason for life.
We're all here as teachers and students.

Those who are suicidal are reminding us to be strong and work through our problems, but, sadly, most people judge them.

I wish to know the answer to your question and pass it on to you!

I think they have to somewhat help themselves. But I have this theory where I think they suffer bcuz no one is praying for them. Like they are forgotten or something. I think there is a reason for everything. Even mental disorders. Sometimes God uses sickness to get that person's attention. It's up to that person to either ignore God, or listen. In my case I listened :). And now I am getting better every day. The person has to take personal responsibility and hopefully make the change for the better. Peace

Maybe you should work in the field for awhile. Check out their quality of life. Maybe help out if it bothers you.

the absolue reason is the most of the people live more with the company of their mind, that is total extrovert life, which in return pushes them to serious mental health related problems.
