Your dog probably feels that the person who has gotten up has "moved too fast" for the dog's comfort level, and the dog may even feel threatened in some way. Have someone try getting up slowly and see if the dog has the same reaction. If the dog does not react, then you'll know why was barking before.

This is your dogs way of saying " I didn't tell you to move, sit!"
My mums dogs bites peoples feet if they shift from the sofa, the best way to deal with this is have a spray bottle ready with 1 part lemon juice & 9 parts water & squirt him when he does it.

when people are sitting they are more his size ,when they stand up ,they get bigger ,the dog objects to that .
also he may think that people are leaving without paying or are planning to steal something on the way out.
we had a dog that let everybody go up the stairs to go to the bath room ,
but no way were they allowed to get down .
he collected a lot of people on the stairs during a party

maybe he doesnt like things that are bigger than him, thus when someone is standing up he doesnt like it..... they say that if you want to make friends with a dog, then get down and lay on your belly and call him... if he comes he is asserting dominance in a way, and if he rolls over for you to scratch his belly, then that means he is showing you he thinks your his equal

What kind of dog do you have? If it's a herding dog, he's trying to keep you all, his "herd" where he thinks they should be. You can train him not to bark at inappropriate times...yep, you can.
