a long time, you have to do cardio to get rid of fat. you DO increase your metabolic rate when you add muscle (70 crunches a day), but to lose 2 inches you would have to do cardio
.some good cardio, jogging, biking, swimming.....anything that gets your heart rate up

you could do 70 crunches for a year and not lose two inches off your waist but you would have one hell of a strong stomach. Yu have got to eat right and have a good cardio program.

There are much better ways to lose fat than crunches. Those will only help if you want to build up your abs. Exercising a certain part of your body doesn't make the fat from that part go away. The body will take energy from fat reserves in a certain order regardless of the exercise being done. Try running or biking instead.
