I grew up as a Mormon...but since then have basically rejected religion as a whole. I'd have to say I'm more agnostic than anything. Truthfully, being Mormon isn't really much different than being any other sort of Christian. People often times look down at Mormons, but don't know anything about it. Being Mormon is really just living a different life-style, but isn't a whole lot different from anyone else. Is it bad that some LDS members chose not to drink, smoke, and live a healthy life-style. Even though I am not active anymore, I do carry some values the church has tought me. In general, show good will toward others. To answer your question: believe what you want to believe, don't be ashamed of who you are.

Your question was answered in the the years 1776-78. My answer today is the same as then. WHO CARES??????????
Buster's wife adding: Did you know that Jesus died on the cross for your sins? And that He rose up for your justification? What He did was sufficient for your salvation. He is the only way. The Jesus from Nazareth is a different Jesus than the one who supposedly talked to Joseph Smith. When God delivered me from the idols in my life, the Mormon book was the last thing I tossed being obedient to God. Jesus hates the Mormon book because it's not His book. Just read what Jesus says to the 7 churches in Revelations. He hates the other doctrines that try to sneak into His churches. There are many other doctrines doing this. Just discern --- Does it take away from who the Lord Jesus Christ really is? Does it say that what He did on the cross was not sufficient for salvation?
Just to add: I love people that are deceived by the words written by a false prophet. The reason it was an idol in my life was because of the people & the family ideology of it all. When I tried to tell my Morman friends of the victory in my life (by tossing out idol), that was the end of our friendship. It hurt me. I still have wounds related that are mending. I hate the Morman book, because my God hates it. My God is The Creator; Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

Ditch religion and pick up your Bible. Study it and find the Truth there - not through some man-made way of doing things. By the way, there are 2 things you need to know.
First, the Bible commands us to neither add to or take away from the Scriptures - the book of Mormon does this. Second, I do not belong to or support any "religions." I only use the Bible as my Source and seek to find the Truth within Its pages only.
May God bless you.

I would remind you of theTop 10 Reasons to Love the Anti-Mormons
1. "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself"(Mt 22:39), and "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." (Mt 5:44)
2. Their efforts tend to generate interest in the Church, and keep our faith frequently in the public eye, which helps our missionary work prosper when they are around.
3. They provide us with a unique insight into the life of the Savior by demonstrating what it must have been like for him to deal with the Scribes and Pharisees.
4. Who else is going to motivate us to study the peripheral, obscure, and unimportant aspects of our religion.
5. They make us laugh with their insane, absurd, contradictory, and spiteful antics.
6. We get to dust off our Logic 101 books, and find reasons to study the Scriptures.
7. They give religious bigotry a bad name.
8. Their "cottage" industry is a boost to local economies--particularly paper and print businesses; and their tracts provide a cheap source of fuel for wood stoves and fireplaces.
9. We are no longer left to wonder: "how many times can the same weak and well-refuted claims be made against our faith?" (Infinity!); and, "to what extent will the anti-Mormons go in forwarding their un-Christ-like agendas?" (Anything goes--including "lying for the Lord?".)
10. They provide a loving "home" for the chronic discontents, and they help make even the most misinformed and unscholarly writers of religion feel important.

I would say that that is your problem and you're going to have to deal with it on your own because I'm having a bad enough time myself dealing with the fact that I'm Mormon.
