I went to Barns & Noble today and picked up a copy of NewsMax magazine. Right there in big, bold, yellow letters it reads "The Da Vinci CON". Intrigued, I picked it up and read the article. Perhaps I read articles like these just to re-evaluate how ignorant people can be, I don't know. Either way, I still can't believe people are so blind.

The Da Vinci Code is a book (now, also a movie). A simple story BASED around a THEORY that's been making rounds since scholars (not Dan Brown) found the Dead Sea scrolls during the 1940's. So for one, it may be Dan Brown's book and story but IT'S NOT HIS theory.

Two, no where does Dan Brown claim that his book as fact. All it states is that descriptions of architect and paintings etc. are accurate. That's it!

And finally, if people would actually LISTEN and PAY ATTENTION, they would understand that Dan Brown is very much a Christian. His FIRST book demonstrates that very clearly.

So, please tell me what's so difficult to understand?

Nothing is difficult to understand, if you know what you are reading! but, if one is reading a fiction book such as this one, and try to find truth in it, then it becomes a problem. The problem we must understand and separate the fact from fiction, and when you take a book mix the fact with the fiction, some will Wonder where does the fact ends and the fiction begins, and visa verse!
The Dead Sea Scrolls were found by young boy, not a scholar by accident, and it has nothing that speaks of the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalen.
Second, the architecture and painting are inaccurate. There are many mistakes, and the reasoning behind what some of the architectures means, for example PS, is actually SP, refers to Saint Peter, not the Prier of Sion. The rose line, the roses etc. to many to mention them all. But, the point is, when you miss information, a person who is not knowledgeable of what they read may not know, what is the truth! per say!

Nothing is so difficult, only if you know and don't get taken in a ride. "If you repeat a lie long enough, and repeat it as often, people will not be able to differentiate between the lie and the truth!". The key is to know what is the illusion, and what is not! Our weakness is we are weak, and we question and always tempted to find the truth. However, somewhere down the road, we get astray away with fictions that we tend to even remember what was we were looking for in the first place!

Hope that somehow helped, or I might have added a bit more for you to ponder upon.

~I loved the book! I think the controversy is ridiculous. However the movie was a huge disappointment! It didn't follow the book at all after the first hour.

People believe what they want to believe and quite often they are naive enough to be manipulated. I guess that's why some people find it hard to understand.

Calm down, we know it's a work of fiction. Unfortunately, the people who are complaining are brain dead and no amount of discussion about the book will do any good.

They are convinced that the book is intended to undermine their faith (which must be weak if they feel threatened by a work of fiction) and was written by the antichrist

The Da Vinci code is the Word of God. Every aspect of it is literally true.
