Mac!!! Easy to use, less headaches, has always been the easiest to use and a very stable operating system. Also their support dept. is full of friendly folks to help if you get stuck. Their hardware is some of the best out there. I've been using Mac for 20 years, and only had one mechanical failure. A monitor back in the early 90s, I called in the afternoon and they had a new one on my doorstep the next day.
BTW I am also an experienced Windows user, but I charge my customers more if they need me to use their Windows. Someone has to pay for the aspirin.
Yes, you can do stocks on a Mac, heck Mac will even slum and run Windows.

Oh boy, that age old PC versus Mac question. May the flame wars begin. lol OK to be honest I am well experienced in both platforms. I prefer windows myself, because Iike to tweak things. Mac's are far easier to use if you ask my wife. No spyware issues, no viruses, and very pretty machines to the eye. I admire the look of the machines. The only issue that creeps up time to time is my wife loves to download games but they simply don't run on a Mac. Uninstalling an application is a breeze find the app and send it to the recycle bin.
Really it all comes down to what do you need it for. Type documents and Surf the web, go with a Mac, yes MS Office is available on the Mac. Want to run games, get a PC.
May I also suggest visiting an Apple Store to try them out and ask questions. The people there are helpful and know their stuff.

Well, picture this. Your children have learnt how to use a Mac and it's all they've ever grown up with. Computers are everywhere and are essential in the classroom among other places. The do Mathematcis, Science, English, Social Studies, Japanese, pretty much everything on them. But there's a catch. they're not only new at school - they're new to the PC! All they've ever known is useless now as they begin to understand it's a Microsoft world out there.
What I am trying to say is: "You can only escape the PC for so long. Eventually the Microsoft cyclone will tear apart that Mac shelter you've hidden yourself under." - Redmondinator!
Take a long look around you. Look at friends, relatives and colleagues. They're not using a Mac. They're using a PC. So do what's right. Do the PC way!

As the user stated above... you are asking a question similar to 'What came first, the chicken or the egg?'
At this stage in the game, you won't find a true winner in the race. Each platform offers a wide variety of pros and cons.

- A great website that offers a very comprehencible comparison between the two, listing test results, personal user experiences, etc. Very worth your time if you are really wondering the differences. However, it is a lengthy reading (about 115 pages) but it is very precise and accurate.
