my mom and dad go to mexico once a year, whether they need it or not, to do dental exams and cleanings and root canals, they claim the fillings used are a better metal than the usa uses and it is much cheaper and depsite what you think it is also safe my mom has been a dr. for 10= yrs and she trusts them, and like someone said you can get good legal drugs for the pain...which i am sure there will be and for that i wish you a very speedy recovery.

I guess it depends on where you live. Is there a dental/oral surgery school close to you? Here, in Texas, I went through about 30 surgeries at the dental school (Utx.. SanAntonio).. they charge much less and you always have the chief of surgery there to make sure all is going well.. But, the residents and interns have to learn somewhere!
I've had both TMJ and orthognathic surgeries.. prolly need ogs again AND definitely need my TMJoints replaced AGAIN,, so, I feel for you! The dental schools only charge about 2,000 for ogs.. and they will usually allow you to make a payment plan! Let me know how or if this works out for you...
Hey, and PLEASE do not go to have this done in India.. if you're in the states.. You need to be close to home after this sort of thing. People who suggest your going out of the country have simply NOT been there!!!

check and see if you qualify for medicaid or tncare in tennessee or arkids in arkansas - i imagine other states have programs like this that help serious cases if you are a minor. as an adult- consider a real loan from a bank otherwise- the only choice i can think of is to save and try to get on a dental plan if possible. most offices will not extend themselves that far on credit due to the fact many go bad on loans and their overhead does have to be paid up front just like everyone else has to

Dental Treatment and Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your dental surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done, you are better off getting it done in India.

hope this helps

If it's not urgent and you really want to have it done, then start saving or get a loan.
