Good site. I have 2 american pit bulls. One has a thin face and the other one has a big square face. They are great dogs!

Very funny site. I did pick the pit bull, as I have seen so many that were impounded. Yes, there are many breeds that look much as the pit bull, but they are all relatively rare. Pit bulls are everywhere and a dime a dozen. The other breeds are costly, and are more likely to be owned by someone who takes care of them and keeps them home.

However, the nasty dog that killed the lady next door in California was not a pit, was very rare, and was trained to be a loaded gun.
So, it isn't JUST pits that are the problem.

To whoever said that the AKC doesn't recognize the pitbull, you are wrong. The AKC recognizes the pitbull as the American Staffordshire Terrier.

And to the people that said that their attacks were proven as pitbulls and that police and animal rescue do know the types of dogs, you're wrong too. I've got a pitbull, and it took me several guesses to get it right. Before you go throwing blind hate towards a single type of dog, educate yourselves. In my opinion, morons should be euthanized instead, they are the ones doing the damage.

And Chetco, purebred pitbulls are very expensive. Trust me. I would imagine that most pits that aren't paid for or are paid very little for are not full bred, and when you go throwing other dogs into the mix, that's where it gets ugly.

I found this site too. I like it do you know how many people have no clue. I work with the Las Vegas a.c and aspce too. Do I know you.
Do you know that a 18 year old man was attacked and badly hurt while eating a Burger in his back Yard by two dachshunds or that a two year old had to be rushed to surgery because the family lab almost put his eye out in a attract. Also a elderly woman was killed by a pack of fox dogs. Did you know more people are bit by their poodles than by pits. Last did you know 3 chidlern were killed by pits last year and 2000 were killed by their parents.

My older sister raises Brindle (God I hope I spelled that right LOL) Pits. Anyway, my point is, they've all been very gentle dogs & sweet pups. I've never seen any of them attack anyone. I've always found them to be loyal, obedient dogs who are no different than any other dog raised in a good, loving home.

I'm so sick of the stero-type that is attatched to Pits. ANY dog has the potential to be an attacker or killer, it all has to do w/how the dog has been raised & treated. I've known many Pits that were as gentle as Golden Retreivers.

I hope that ppl will wise up & realize that the vicious Pits that they do run across are a result of their treatment, not their breed.

That was the stupidest test I've ever taken!
I live in west Texas and not one of those dogs are a pit bull! The AKC does not recognize the pitt bull just like the white schnauzer I know I have one.

Why don't you find some of those innocent babies, children, and adults who have been attacked?
Police and Animal Control are the ones who investigate, right? Are you attempting to say that police and Animal Control do not know what a pit bull looks like. Certain dogs do turn on humans for no reason at all. Open your eves.
