I am making a banner for my husband he is coming home from his job training and we are throwing a big party and i need some ideas on what to put on it like some sayings i want it to be funny but i also want him to know that we are happy that he is back home and then we take off to germany for two years! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!????

I don't know how big of a banner you want to do...I have seen those put cloth like banners with spray painted words "Welcome Home (rank and name) We miss you ...We love you..." and they would have it draped over the bridge of an overpass (the bridge would have like a chain link wall (Going towards home, of course :o) . They would somehow secure the cloth to the chain link and we would see it on it for a few days. I am not sure if you have to get an OK from the City Mayor or someone of equivalent to have a permission to put it up. You can maybe even make big signs with big poles and stick it in the ground on the way to your home...and maybe you can even say on the bottom with an arrow...STOP HERE...have him or you pull over...you could attach a note/letter or even a trivia question game along the way...(be sure to put notes in baggies on rainy days. I wouldn't know what kind of things to say or ask in those trivia questions...that would be for you to come up the creative ideas...to make him laugh...or make him feel just so WELCOME!!!! Sounds like you and your family have been through a lot of changes...I wish you and your husband a special reunion....many blessings for being together. I hope he will enjoy your warm welcome signs.

UM! Welcome home honey! Do you want to play the pirate game? And then you bend over and let him bury his treasure? Sorry, not a good thing to put on a banner. But your husband might like it! I thought it was funny! Im a former Marine and my wife did it for me! When I came home from the war. And trust me I not only found treasure but gold.

family photos personal autographs from family and friends and endearing messages with them photo messages signature his nicknames IF APPROPRIATE a local schools of young childrens thank-yous and art work a group neighbors picture if your close with messages the neighborhood misses him or misses his fill in the blank hand prints pet prints messages from people he sees often the store cleaners ect.. save banner or cut up for a scrap book

"WELCOME HOME HONEY - THE SEX WAS TERRIBLE WITHOUT YOU !!!" haha that was just a joke of course - i would say something differnt like "Home isnt the same without you" - Good Luck - and congrats on him comming home - my fiance left for job training and i know it sucks !!
