i dont know how to setup an account on these two softwares.. and i dont know what r the settings for my hotmail account. do i have to select pop or imtp or whatever it is.. complete settings plz..

Your best bet is to get Yahoo Mail Plus, because I don't believe hotmail offers pop access. Hotmail is strictly a web based e-mail client. But they might have a paid pop access like Yahoo Mail Plus. But why not just use Yahoo Mail Plus?

Microsoft does not anymore support setting hotmail accounts in outlook express. Only in cases where hotmail years ago was "connected" through Outlook Express this will keep working for some time. Microsoft will disable this service (very) soon for all hotmail users. Only when upgrading to a Hotmail plus account will lead to continuing of this service. Use the program Hotmail Popper from the link below. It will walk you through step by step. You must use this program (or one like it) in order to access your hotmail thru OE for free.
