I Don't Just Read The Bible, I Too Study Every Word And With The Help Of The Holy Spirit I Understand What I Read Spiritually! God's Word Says: "Study To Show Yourself Approved Unto God, A Workman That Needth Not To Be Ashamed, Rightly Dividing The Word Of Truth"...(2 Tim. 2:15)......

When I was Christian I would read the Bible. I never paid attention to what anything meant, I just did it because the pastor told me to. But as I began questioning religion I started reading the Bible and took a serious look at it. I studied everything that was written and looked at all possible interpretations. I honestly believe that if I hadn't read the Bible, I would still be a Christian. But the book is Christianity's worst enemy, it's quite illogical to me. Anyway, I've studied the Bible three times, cover to cover. First to find religion (I ended up losing it, ha). Next just to see what other people got out of it. And the final time I read it was to be more familiar with it so that I could use the Bible in religious debates.

Since I'm an atheist, I no longer study the bible. It is a book of mythology and is nonsense.

But, when I was a teenager, my brothers and I used to debate various parts of the bible. Interestingly enough, even we could not agree on what most of it actually meant and we were all of the same religion and attended the same church (Baptist).

We were young and naive and really believed that nonsense.

Which, at this point in my life, makes me smile when I remember those innocent days of youth when reality didn't intrude on my life.

Keep reading it, someday you will (should) come to know the truth and the truth will set you free.

A fellow Christian recently told me that when you read the Bible you are developing your own relationship with Christ. I might study the same chapter as you but since I'm at a different place and have my own relationship, we may gain different meaning from the same text. If spending hours energizes you and makes you feel closer to GOD. I say AMEN

Don't read the Bible, study it.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2Ti 2:15)

For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little: (Isa 28:10)
