It depends on the peson. Everyone develops at different ages. As for deoderant, it depends how young they are. Some little children may find deoderant to irritate their skin. Body odor usualy comes from sweat and most kids sweat the most during puberty. Maybe use some talcum powder.

Any child can have under-arm odor, all it takes is bacteria growth. The best way to combat this is allow them lots of water, very little juice, no gator-ade type drinks, and a bath each day or night. When they still have the odor then consider age, puberty and so on. Of course, a good bathing teacher is nice. Many parents take the ch id to the bath, teach them how to wash with a wash cloth, rinse, etc. These are life-long skills they can always use.

More info would be helpful.

Remember that clean well rinsed clothes are a must in preventing bacterial growth.

Good luck in what the problem is.

As a teacher, let me tell you that I'd really appreciate if you, as a parent checked your kid's B.O. when they get home from school. If they're a bit stinky, then underarm deodorant or more frequent showers are in order.

Kids sometimes start smelling at around 3rd or 4th grade. By fifth grade both boys and girls should be wearing underarm deodorant. I'm not kidding, both boys and girls are incredibly stinky in the 5th grade due to puberty. They need basic hygene and deodorant is key.

Kids who have BO get teased by other kids. Also, your kids really do notice if you care about their needs and buy them a little deodorant. It impacts their self esteem to know that you love them enough to notice without their having to ask. Puberty can be very embarrassing! Take the time to make it easy on your kids, they'll love you for it.

Around the age of 11, or the age in which puberty starts. Yes, it is good to put deodarant under their arm since odor is one social deterrent.

5 yrs.old, I thought it was strange when my son started having an odor, but apparently it's quite normal for kids these days. And yes, it's quite alright to let them use deodorant. Just don't let the child use scented deodorants, it makes the odor worse. For mine I use Dove Original.Very effective.

yea, typically 11 or 12, but I started needing deoderant at 7. I just had that one aspect of puberty early. I was normal in all the others.

5th grade maybe?

I know they hand out sticks in 5th...

So perhaps 4th would be a logical guess for an active child growing a faster rate.

as for the application:
I don't think it could hurt...
